Selena Gomez is now seeking mental health treatment after reportedly suffering an emotional breakdown. It is believed Gomez's condition was brought on by ongoing problems with her physical health. It was a family member who took Selena to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The singer was recently hospitalized for a second time with a plummeting white blood cell count, and the emergency "threw Selena into a downward emotional spiral", TMZ reported, citing unnamed sources. When her low count continued into the next month, she reportedly was checked into the hospital once again.
The Bad Liar hitmaker tried to leave shortly afterwards but was told she couldn't, prompting the artist to have a "meltdown" and "freak out" as she tried ripping drips out of her arm.
Selena was then taken to an East Coast psychiatric facility, where she is now receiving dialectical behavior therapy.
"Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror - like an idiot!)" she wrote under the photo, later editing it to add, "Update: taking a social media break".
