Apple has finally fixed the weird charging issues on its new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max smartphones.

The new version - iOS 12.0.1 - is available for download right now, and if you don't receive a push notification prompting you to download it, you can force your device to by navigating to Settings General Software Update. Other iPhone models running iOS 12 also were affected, but everything should be hunky dory once iOS 12.0.1 is installed.

We did not encounter these issues when reviewing the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, but they should now be resolved for users who did, many of whom had taken to Apple and gadget forums to share their experiences. For instance, Apple says it will resolve a problem that could cause iPhone XS devices to rejoin Wi-Fi network at 2.4 Ghz, instead of the 5Ghz band.

The position of the.?123 key has also been switched back in this update on the iPad. iOS 12 swapped the position of the.?123 key and the emoji/language key, which annoyed some users and this update swaps it back.

Finally, the update will fix a small issue that prevented some subtitles appearing in videos.

Additionally, iOS 12.0.1 also patches the security vulnerability discovered last week that may have allowed an attacker to bypass a passcode and view photos or contacts from the Lock screen using VoiceOver, according to Apple's security content page.
