"I think it's just kind of run its course", coach Pat Shurmur said Monday.

"Giants still hoping to complete a trade for OT Ereck Flowers by 4 pm today".

Out of 275 qualified linemen who took at least 1,800 offensive snaps since 2006, Flowers allowed the most quarterback pressures (180) and had the worst pressure percentage allowed (9.45-percent).

Flowers was forced into the starting lineup at left tackle during his rookie season when Will Beatty tore his pectoral muscle in the spring.

Stock prices plummet amid tech selloff, rising interest rates
Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.2 percent, South Korea's Kospi dropped 1.1 percent and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong gained 0.1 percent. At its worst, the Dow Jones index dropped by as much as 699 points, before closing 546 points (2.1 per cent) lower at 25,053.

After giving Flowers every chance to succeed during his first three seasons, the Giants finally made the decision to move him from left tackle prior to the start of the 2018 season.

This year did not begin well for Flowers under the new regime led by general manager Dave Gettleman.

A trade appears unlikely, as Flowers' $2.4 million base salary is guaranteed and he costs $4.6 million against the cap.

However, poor performance led the Giants make left tackle Nate Solder the highest-paid offensive lineman in history (since exceeded by Taylor Lewan) this offseason, moving Flowers to the right side. He has been on the Giants practice squad since September 13. "We appreciate Ereck's efforts, and we just wish him the best". "Even these last weeks, when you're told someone else is playing, he's done everything we've asked him to do. Sometimes a change of scenery is good for a person, and we're just hopeful he can go out and continue to have a good career". He suffered a hand injury in the game and at one point was listed as questionable to return, prompting the sight of Flowers, helmet in hand, with the rest of the starters.
