Hillary Clinton Makes a Cameo Appearance on 'Murphy Brown'

Clinton appeared in the September 27 premiere of the Candice Bergen-led sitcom - but not as herself.

The heavily buzzed premiere (which included a Hillary Clinton cameo) was watched by 7.4 million viewers with only a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 - the lowest of the network's two-hour comedy block, falling 15 percent from its Mom lead in.

Murphy went on to ask if she had any secretarial experience ("For four years I was the secretary ... of a very large organization", she replied) and if she had experience with technology and teamwork.

Clinton's character, Hilary Clinton - spelled with only one "L" - poked fun at her resemblance to the former presidential candidate before going on to list her qualifications for the job as Murphy Brown's secretary.

The former secretary of state claims that she is not Hillary Clinton but someone who looks like her and has a wealth of experience.

Even before a single word of the script for CBS's "Murphy Brown" revival was written, Diane English and Candice Bergen had an idea for a big-name guest star.

"We started to pull out all the resources that we had of people we knew who are friends with her", English tells CNN". "Computer, email", Brown asked. "Emails, I do have some experience with emails", Clendon answers cheekily.

Candice Bergen told Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show" Wednesday that she once went on a date with Donald Trump. Hillary left her with her business card, which had the email address "Hilary@youcouldahadme.com".
