Liverpool reached the final of the Champions League last season, knocking out City on the way, but they were 25 points off the record-breaking pace set by Pep Guardiola's side domestically.

Liverpool should start the season with a win but West Ham can find the net too, says Dave Tindall, as he previews Sunday's match between the two clubs.

"We beat City in the League and the Champions League last season, so I think we can win everything in the world. I think it's the year of Liverpool, Alisson and Firmino", Pele tweeted on Saturday.

"We know that. More clinical".

"Win all of them and it's good, but it's really hard to do so". City got three points from us, we got three points from them.

Mane scored in the Champions League final, both legs of the semi against Roma and the 3-0 home leg of the quarter-final v Man City so he's a massive part of Liverpool's lethal front trident. That's it. We lost them in other games. "We can be everything we want to be", says Shaqiri. The pressure is cranked up now - Liverpool fans will want a trophy in order to secure more than just bragging rights.

"We can improve everything: we can improve our offensive game, we can improve our defensive game". We saw the game against Chelsea, they are top quality.

The Reds are one of the favorites to win the league, while the Hammers have spent over $100 million on new players, highlighted by talented Brazilian Felipe Anderson from Lazio.

"I came here to win titles and, of course, I have that winning mentality".

Trent Alexander-Arnold returned sooner than expected from his extended holiday after the 2018 FIFA World Cup and should start ahead of Nathaniel Clyne at right-back.

"But he felt ill when he came back so we sent him home again and I didn't see him so far and didn't ask anybody".

"I also stated after Coutinho's sale that the extraordinary fee presented an opportunity - for one summer at least - to outspend the rest of the Premier League".

"We will see, we have not big issues but we have these little things where we have to think about if it's a risk or not and if it's a risk do we take it or not and all that stuff". You need to have the right personality for that very hard job.
