Legendary actor Robert Redford has confirmed he is retiring from the world of acting following his upcoming movie, "The Old Man & The Gun".

Redford said he'd been impatient, which he blamed on "getting exhausted of acting", citing the grueling schedule of working on a set.

"Never say never, but I pretty well concluded that this would be it for me in terms of acting, and [I'll] move towards retirement after this 'cause I've been doing it since I was 21", Redford said. I thought, Well, that's enough.

According to Redford, his latest film is "very upbeat and positive", so he figured it was a great film to exit on.

In his new film, Redford will play Forrest Tucker, who crafted a 14ft kayak with the name "Rub-a-Dub-Dub - Marin County Yacht Club" stencilled on one side while in San Quentin Prison in California.
