Who would you like to see as the next 007? This week a new report indicated that such casting may actually take place - and the response on Twitter has been especially pointed.
Twitter user @wordtoJude felt this news was a long time coming - "IVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS FOR YEARS".
British bookies William Hill have slashed the odds on Idris Elba being named as the next James Bond from 9/2 to 7/4.
Hollywood director and producer Antoine Fuqua, the man behind Training Day, The Magnificent Seven remake and Olympus Has Fallen, revealed details of a conversation with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.
Dez Bryant interested in Browns but not ready to play yet
Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman said he believes Bryant will play in the National Football League this season. He also said he is going to take all the time he needs and he feels like he has three good years left.
Upon hearing that Elba is in the frontrunning to play Bond next, the internet shared their opinions. "Idris could do it if he was in shape", Fuqua told the newspaper. You need a guy with a physically strong presence. Will Elba want to play it as much as everyone else wants him to?
Eon Productions, maker of the James Bond films, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Elba has previously been mentioned as a possible 007, and was said to have been the favourite of then Sony chief Amy Pascal according to leaked documents from the Sony hack back in 2014. "Idris has that", the director added.
He later lodged the idea of having a female Bond rather than another male. "Could be a woman, could be a black woman, could be a white woman, but I think, that character, everybody would like to see it have - do something different with it, why not?" Elba said when speaking with Variety.
The author denied this was a coded racist slur and explained: "Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better".
