"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction", she wrote in an Instagram message on August 5.

According to the news outlet, sources close to the singer say she was discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Saturday and took a private plane to the facility, which is not in California.

She wrote in an open letter posted on Instagram: "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction".

Friends of the star have told People they think the only way Demi can get better is to "completely quit show business", claiming: 'She needs to get out of this whole system that she has been in since she was 13'.

Demi Lovato's ex-boyfriends Wilmer Valderrama and Joe Jonas are reportedly reacting to the singer's apparent overdose on Tuesday after news broke that she is reportedly "awake" and in "stable" condition.

In the meantime, the Saudi Ministry of Media tweeted they shut down the account until an investigation in the complaints finalised.

Almost two weeks after her apparent overdose, Demi Lovato spoke out for the first time on social media.

"Momma, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore/And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor", her lyrics read. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet", she said. "I really wouldn't be alive today without him", she said. Your positive thoughts and prayers hsave helped me navigate through this hard time. "I will keep fighting".

In late June, Lovato released a new single, "Sober", in which she admitted to breaking the six years of sobriety she marked on March 15.

It's believed that Demi will remain in the treatment center for at least a month.
