The new View will see a lineup comprised of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Meghan McCain, and Abby Huntsman.

The hiring of Huntsman comes in the wake of The View bidding adieu to both co-host Sara Haines (who with Michael Strahan will co-anchor Good Morning America's new, Chew-replacing third hour, GMA Day, starting September 10) and part-time panelist Paula Faris (who left the talker in July).

A source familiar with the situation told Deadline Huntsman is expected to land at The View, though no deal is done. Jon Huntsman (R-Utah), who joined President Donald Trump's administration last fall to serve as the United States' ambassador to Russian Federation, a country "The View" panel frequently discusses. She recently slammed the president after his meeting with Putin last month, in which Trump seemed to side with Russian Federation on US election interference.

Abby has been in the running for weeks as a replacement for Sara Haines, along with CNN contributor Ana Navarro.

Huntsman grew up in Utah and appeared as a political commentator for ABC News in 2012 during the presidential campaign of her father, a Republican leader and former Utah governor who now serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Russian Federation.

"No negotiation is worth throwing your own people and country under the bus", Huntsman tweeted.

Four years ago, the 32-year-old was a guest host on "The View".

The show has been on the air for 21 seasons.
