Trump lawyer Giuliani 'confused' to claim attorney-client privilege: Cohen lawyer

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, an attorney of President Donald Trump, took shots at former President Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's credibility, describing him as a "pathological manipulator" and "liar".

Citing sources, CNN reported on Thursday that Cohen was willing to tell special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 United States election, that candidate Trump knew in advance of the meeting and had approved it. NBC news later reported it had independently verified that account as true.

The president, his son, his lawyers and other administration officials have repeatedly said Trump did not know about the meeting until news of it broke in July 2017.

"I knew as soon as Giuliani spoke that he was damaging Trump's case immeasurably", Goldberg told CNN's "Erin Burnett Out Front".

On Sunday, Giuliani argued that the recordings about Mr. Trump "clearly corroborate" the president's position that he was not aware ahead of time about payments to McDougal or Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress who received $150,000 from a company set up by Cohen in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair.

President Trump's former lawyer and fixer says he is now willing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller. "The president they think is facing more pushback from the establishment than other presidents have, that's how they see it", Salvanto told CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

Nod for Disney's $71.3B acquisition of Fox entertainment
Only a single shareholder voting against the move, on the grounds that they believed Disney was spending too much money. The effects on the sports, entertainment, and media industries going forward will be fascinating to watch.

"I thought he was taping all phone conversations.but to tape people when you're sitting in the office with them, that would be highly suspect", Nunberg said.

"Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam", Trump tweeted, adding: "(Taxi cabs maybe?). Federal investigators seized millions of records during a raid on his home and office in April, including recordings of conversations Cohen had made.

"Obviously if I knew that, I never would've said he was a reputable lawyer", Giuliani said. Giuliani, who called Cohen "an honest, honorable lawyer" as recently as May, has made a sport out of bashing Cohen in recent days.

And, as we said, the president denied it today.

"I wish these guys could put down their arms, recognize the longevity of their relationship and stop the backbiting and the infighting", Scaramucci said. That tape was released Wednesday through Cohen's attorney Lanny Davis. "By Cohen's account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources", CNN reported. Christie said that if Cohen wants to make a deal with prosecutors, he may be hurting himself by making claims publicly about Trump.
