Resident Evil 2 originally launched in 1998 and is considered a cult classic.
Apparently Capcom has moved a few things around and made some changes to locations and puzzles (there are toilets in this game that the original never had, for example). The classic video game is being remade for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 2 remake will include Tofu as an unlockable bonus as per the original game, alongside The Fourth Survivor mode featuring gas-masked fan-favourite Umbrella Agent Hunk. The announcement included a horrific new trailer showing a high-definition vision of Raccoon City overrun by voracious hordes of the undead. Like the Resident Evil remake for GameCube back in 2002, this game was also built from the ground up. For those unfamiliar with the story, players join rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City.
When the Resident Evil 2 remake was first teased, I had no idea what to expect. To this day it has retained it's title as the best selling single platform game. The game combines the over the shoulder perspective of Resident Evil 4 with the more intuitive controls of 7, which goes a long way towards making this take on RE2 feel brand new.
Sony Crushes Cross-Play Dreams For 'Fortnite'
That isn't the case here, though, because you can play Fortnite with people on PS4, PC, iOS, and Android devices. Perhaps the Sony rep who crafted the above statement should consider a second career in politics.
Some may be anxious that the over-the-shoulder camera may make the game feel too different to the original Resident Evil 2, but the trailers indicate that the remake is going to be very faithful to the original. Let us know in the comment section below!
The Resident Evil 2 remake is scheduled to release on January 25, 2019.
