Amanda Dinwiddie, an animal shelter euthanasia technician at Westwood Veterinary Hospital, told KXII that the owner asked to euthanize the six remaining dogs.
Vets at the animal shelter that carried out the euthanisations told U.S. media none had legs longer than an adult human hand or weighed more than 18kg.
The attack occurred on a rural road near the town of Ardmore, in the southern part of the state. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims", he added.
Six dogs in the group belonged to the breed of dachshunds, one was a mixture of Terrier.
"A predominant breed in these dogs is definitely standard dachshund", Dinwiddie said.
Dez Bryant doesn't regret passing up on Ravens' offer
As quarterback Dak Prescott's No. 1 option last season, Bryant finished with just 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns. Bryant, who played alongside Witten for his entire career, was recently cut by the Cowboys and remains unsigned.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant described the scene, including what lead to police shooting one of the dogs, in a media appearance following the incident.
The dogs had no visible health problems, other than a flea and tick infestation. "This is just a bad deal all the way around".
"We were cleaning ticks off ourselves all day", Dinwiddie said.
"If there was any possible issue of them biting someone else then it would've been (done) but the dogs are deceased as well as the victim so there's just no reason to go spend the thousands and thousands of dollars", Dinwiddie said. They are characterized by short legs and long bodies, often being given the nickname "sausage dogs". "They are very covered, you can tell they have been living out in the woods". However, KXII reported that vet hospital officials have decided that the dogs won't be tested. The district attorney will review the case to determine if the dogs owner will face charges.
