Nokia X6 launch today, teaser highlights iPhone X display style

Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and ultra slim bezels on the sides. Nokia X6 launches on the same day as the OnePlus 6, though the phone is limited to China for now.

After a few weeks of speculation regarding the name, the Nokia X6 finally went official in China on Wednesday. Apart from the notch, theres also be a narrow chin on the bottom of the display which keeps the Nokia logo. The addition of the Nokia X6 will be a welcome one. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.

The smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset along with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM coupled with either 32GB or 64Gb of onboard storage. All three variants will support storage expandability up to 256GB via microSD card. It includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac for connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS+Beidou as well for connectivity. The phone is expected to house a 3060mAh battery. There's no mention of fast-charging on the phone. A recent leak has claimed that the Nokia X6 name is final now. The back of the device sports a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel and a 5-megapixel camera sensor. On the front of the phone, there's also a 16MP selfie camera. To the front, there's a 16 MP F/2.0 selfie shooter, which comes with AI selfies for background blur & stickers. Sensors on board the Nokia X6 are: Ambient Light, Proximity, Acceleration, Fingerprint Identification, Electronic Compass and Gyro. The phone is priced at CNY 1299 (USD 204/ INR 13,830) for the 4 GB RAM/ 32 GB storage variant, the 4 GB RAM/ 64 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1499 (USD 236/ INR 15,980), while the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant would cost you CNY 1699 (USD 266/ INR 18,090). The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version will cost Yuan 1699 which is almost Rs 18,100.

The launch event began at 1:00pm IST with a live stream of the event on China's JD.com, and Tmall.
