Apple Pay has today expanded to the Ukraine; customers who bank with PrivatBank can now register their cards on their iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and Macs.

Monzo users can add Apple Pay through either the Wallet app of their iPhone, or via the Monzo banking app.

The announcement was made on Monzo's blog, with the bank apologising to its customers for the delay in rolling out Apple pay integration. Better late than never, naturally. From the Monzo app, open the Monzo app and there will be an option to add Monzo to Wallet.

Monzo added that there is no limit on Apple Pay transactions, but some merchants apply the contactless limit and will only accept payments of up to £30. Users then just need to follow instructions. The just over three year-old fintech says it has been one of the most requested features for its banking app, with over 2,000 mentions of Apple Pay on Monzo's forum, whilst its customer support team have been asked about the functionality more than 13,000 times. Authorizing the purchase is as simple as scanning your fingerprint with Touch ID or looking at the display for Face ID on iPhone X. There is no additional fee for using Apple Pay.

What we do know is that - similar to Apple's iOS App Store when submitting an app - the Apple Pay approval process for a new bank partner is not for the faint-hearted.
