Girls outsmart boys in ICSE, ISC

Past year also girls outdid boys but had cent percent in the ICSE category. She earned 100 per cent in physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science and 97 per cent in English.

While the announcement of examination results often spark a feeling of unrest or stress amongst students and teachers, the atmosphere in the schools as well as the homes of their students continues to be, just days before their results.

Also, the western region followed the southern region with a pass percentage of 99.67 in ISCE and 97.22 in ISC.

Among the toppers, a majority of students are from Mumbai as over 18,975 students appeared for Class 10 and 2,529 students appeared for Class 12 in Maharashtra. Seven pupils drew first place with 99.5 per cent in the ISC exam.

According to The Times of India, Swayam Das from Mumbai is the highest ICSE scorer in India, having earned 99.4 per cent.

Lekshmi S Sunil of St Thomas Residential School, Thiruvanantha-puram, who has won second rank at the state-level is among the 25 third rank holders at the national level, by securing 99 percent marks. Parents shouldn't stop students from playing sports even before exams because in a way it helps improve their concentration level and also increases their stamina.

She said that there is no room for doubts if you have to score well, especially if your subjects are arts.

"It is heartening to note that our top academic achievers are also all-rounders, finding the right balance between their focus on academics and their extra-curricular pursuits". I am happy with my performance. "I feel that self-studying is one of the best ways to achieve success", she said. It's always my dream to pursue the honours course at Delhi University.
