Flash Flood Watch in effect until 4 am Saturday

Two to five inches of additional rain is forecast through Friday.

According to the weather service, there could be some flooding of islands and low areas in and around the river, with minor impacts for nearby parks and trails.

The Schuylkill is forecast to come within a half foot of flood stage at both Philadelphia and Norristown.

A Flood Watch has once again been issued for most of the Rocky Mountain Front.

Oswego Public Works director Jennifer Hughes said the village is not in any "imminent danger" with respect to flooding along the Fox River. Many of our local waterways and creeks will likely experience some flooding, so keep kids away.

Although rainfall for the month is substantially above normal in Philadelphia, and more than 5 inches above for the year, the streams and rivers aren't particularly scary looking. Flood stage is 6.5 feet, which was reached and exceeded on Sunday. The river is forecast to crest Saturday afternoon at 17.7 feet.

In Georgetown, moderate flooding is also expected this weekend, especially at high tide.

Rain showers will be a bit more numerous on Thursday and Friday.

First, a low-pressure system from the eastern Gulf of Mexico is lifting north through the Southeast toward the Mid-Atlantic.
