After several leaks and teaser, Xiaomi funded Black Shark has finally unveiled its much anticipated gaming smartphone in China. It's priced at CNY 179 (roughly Rs. 1,900). There will be a 4GB RAM and 32GB version, a 6GB RAM and 64GB variant, and a 6GB RAM and 128GB model. All that is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, supported by either 6GB or 8GB RAM, and an Adreno 630 graphics processor. The storage space will be further expandable using a microSD card.
Xiaomi's even devised a liquid cooling system to make sure temperatures stay down by up to 8°C.
Black Shark gaming handsets are likely to be part of the Xiaomi Mi ecosystem in the future, with a proprietary interface created to mask the original look of stock Android. The battery charges over USB-C and there's QuickCharge 3.0 so it fills up relatively fast as well.
WhatsApp adds new feature to retrieve deleted media; here's how it works
WABetaInfo claims that it managed to download images and videos which were 2 to 3 months old, but only after several attempts. However, with the new feature, you can simply scroll up the chat conversation and download the required media content again.
- In addition to the Snapdragon 845, the Black Shark gaming phone also packs in a dedicated Pixelworks image processing chip that supports something that the company is calling intelligent motion compensation technology that aids in image enhancement and dark scene detail processing for enhanced gaming experiences.
The new Xiaomi Black Shark comes in great configurations for gaming but such powerful specs need special measures to perform at their top. It comes in Polar Night Black and Sky Gray colour options. It will be available for order from today and goes on sale from April 20th in China. This is also the first phone in Xiaomi's gaming sub-brand and a direct competitor to the Razer Phone. The mod, while acting as a gamepad, also has an internal 340 mAh battery, that is claimed to offer up to 30 hours of gaming on a single charge. Xiaomi has announced that the first 50,000 buyers will get the gamepad mod for free with the Black Shark. A recent report pointed out that the phone's rear camera will indeed come with 20MP sensor alongside another 12MP sensor as well as a 20MP front sensor with all three of them were sourced from Sony.
According to the teaser image, the Xiaomi Mi 6x will have a 20MP primary camera and a 20MP front-facing camera. The X-shaped back of the phone is meant to ensure a better grip and the frame doubles up as an antenna for stronger connectivity.
