Talks between your US and California officers concerning the obligations California troops could work, as stated by the Associated Press, soured during the weekend following California officers told the Trump government they would not participate in auto maintenance along with also other initial jobs across the border in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

California Gov. Jerry Brown has pledged 400 troops to the effort by Trump to send up to 4,000 troops to the border.

But the Democratic Brown conditioned his support by insisting that California's troops have nothing to do with immigration enforcement.

California is at the forefront of what opponents call the "Resistance" to Trump's administration, with the heavily Democratic state suing the federal government over numerous issues, including the rollback of environmental regulations.

According to two U.S. officials, the initial jobs for those troops include fixing and maintaining vehicles, using remote-control surveillance cameras to report suspicious activity to U.S. Border Patrol agents, operating radios and providing "mission support", which can include clerical work, buying gas and handling payrolls.

Brown was clear last week that California troops will help go after drugs, guns and criminal gangs, but not immigrants. On Monday, a top Customs and Border protection official told the Associated Press that California had rejected the federal government's terms.

"California Governor Jerry Brown does the flawless thing and delivering the National Guard to the Border".

The Defense Department said Monday the Trump and Brown administrations have not yet reached agreement on the terms of the California National Guard's deployment - and that negotiations continue.

"The federal government has not yet responded", Keegan said in an emailed statement.

The Democratic governor cast his decision as a welcome infusion of support paid for by the USA government to fight transnational criminal gangs and drug and firearms smugglers.

Talks between USA and California officials about the duties the California troops would perform soured Friday and over the weekend after state authorities told federal officials that they would not participate in vehicle maintenance and the other jobs outlined for an initial phase across the border in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, the US officials said.

"The location of Guard personnel - and number specifically working in support of operations along the border, the coast and elsewhere in the state - will be dictated by the needs on the ground", a spokesperson for Brown's office told TheDCNF in a Wednesday email.
