A police officer broke his wrist Saturday while struggling with a suspect who was resisting arrest, a news release from the North Smithfield Police Department said Sunday.
A 19-year-old man from Cornwall is facing two charges after police crossed paths with him while investigating an unrelated matter on March 27.
"They didn't do anything, I saw the entire thing", another White person said. Multiple officers were on the scene.
The assailants, who were reportedly armed with guns, cutlasses, axes, broken bottles, and other weapons, also allegedly robbed residents of their phones, chains, cash and other valuables. Officers said he struggled when they tried to arrest him.
