The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is one of the first products to be announced under the partnership which means that the phone will be exclusively available for buying from Flipkart, starting today. Touted as the competition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, the handset shares a few specs - such as display and the processor - with it. The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB variant and Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB variant, and will be available via Flipkart which is the exclusive online retailer.

Asus will be live-streaming the launch event on its Facebook page and also on Flipkart.

On the software front, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.

One of the biggest issues the Zenfone range has faced ever since the first generation of the smartphone, is the cluttered ZenUI layer. The render confirms one thing that is going to be the main highlight of this Asus device, i.e., stock Android. The phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and curved 2.5D glass on the front with on-screen navigation keys. However, as far as today's launch is concerned, it seems ASUS will directly pit the Zenfone Max Pro M1 against the current king of the budget Android segment in India - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 series. The USP of the smartphone is its mammoth 5,000mAh battery capacity which comes with fast charging support.
