The signing of the Iran nuclear deal in 2015 opened the floodgates for all Mideast regional powers to pursue their own nuclear programs, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
Under the deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), "Many countries in the Middle East are saying that they are also allowed to enrich uranium if Iran is allowed to do so; therefore, the way to prevent this danger, the nuclearization of the Middle East, is to either thoroughly correct the agreement or abrogate it", Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting on March 11.
During the meeting, the USA president allegedly said that until now, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, the three European Union signatories to the deal, only proposed "cosmetic changes" that he did not find satisfactory, the Axios news website reported.
A top U.S. general signaled support for the Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday, saying it played an important role in addressing Tehran's weapons program.
Trump is demanding "significant changes" to the Iran deal, not just additional agreements between the US and the European nations, and said he would pull out of the deal if those changes aren't made, Israeli officials told Axios.
Trump is threatening to scrap the worldwide agreement unless tough new restrictions were placed on Iran before May 12.

The White House and Netanyahu's office refused to comment to Axios on the report.
"If the same policy of confusion and uncertainties about the JCPOA continues, if companies and banks are not working with Iran, we can not remain in a deal that has no benefit for us", Araqchi threatened.
Israel does not partake in the talks directly but is updated on any progress regarding the negotiations. Another round of talks is expected to begin on Thursday in Berlin.
