Microsoft Announces The Biggest Showing Ever At This Year's E3 With Xbox

The Verge attributed the new information to "sources familiar with the company", and while Ybarra's tweet doesn't explicitly mean that the avatars aren't coming in April, it does debunk the idea that a firm release date has been set.

How could Microsoft possibly out-do previous E3 conferences, where it introduced the Xbox One S and Xbox One X?

As revealed last June, the avatar system will offer a wider spectrum of customisation options - with wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, different body shapes and sizes, the ability for women to appear pregnant - oh, and you can ride a unicorn as well.

"With the evolution of E3, now including fans and extended show hours, we saw an opportunity to create an entirely new show experience reaching E3 attendees and those that are following the show from afar", said Microsoft. "In fact, it will be our biggest showing ever". As expected, this conference will also take place at the Microsoft Theater.

Morrisons Profits Jump 11% As Sales Continue To Rise
He added: "We had a strong year, becoming more competitive and increasingly differentiating Morrisons for all stakeholders. Morrisons profits jumped 11 per cent despite rising costs, to notch up a third consecutive year of growth.

The Microsoft Theater will be home to official E3 events like the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing, various Xbox FanFest activities, hands-on gameplay and demos for all E3 attendees and more.

Taking a leaf out of EA's playbook and their EA Play event, Microsoft are moving the majority of their presence to the Microsoft Theater, which isn't too far away from the LA Convention Center where E3 takes place.

Xbox is without a doubt one of the most powerful consoles available in the market so they need to bring new exclusive games to make use of their powerful hardware.

The new avatar feature will likely go to the Xbox Insider program first, however, to get that feedback that Ybarra mentioned in the tweet, so look for more updates on the avatars leading up to their release, whenever that may be.
