The toy chain appointed Moorfields Advisory to oversee an administration at the end of February.

Today (March 14) staff were informed that no buyer had been found and so they would need to start the hunt for new jobs.
But they said: "While this process has generated some interest, unfortunately it has not been possible to secure a sale".
The chain was plunged into liquidation in January after failing to pay a £15million Value-Added Tax bill and it put jobs across the country at risk.
"We are grateful for the hard work of Toys R Us staff during this very difficult period and will be providing support where we can to those who have been made redundant".

Before Christmas it had hoped to have staved-off the threat of administration after reaching a deal with UK's pension lifeboat to plug a £9million blackhole.
The administrators said in a statement they had not been able to find a buyer for all or part of the business, resulting in the loss of about 3,000 jobs. Twenty Five Toys "R" Us stores have already closed over the past few days, and many others are scheduled to close by Thursday.

The company has said its large, warehouse style stores, which were opened in the 1980s and 1990s are now too big and expensive to run.
A closure process has also already begun with 26 loss-making stores earmarked from late past year, when Toys R Us UK pushed through a restructure in its company voluntary agreement (CVA) proposal that was approved just before Christmas.
