Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have confirmed their break-up after two and half years of dating, by sharing emotional personal statements on Twitter. I mean, seriously, why stress out when you're two of the hottest people on the planet who got to spend two years gallivanting around the world with each other? The post served as a joint statement of sorts, and - despite the sad nature of the news - was nothing but respectful and loving. "She has such an incredible soul", Malik tweeted this morning, following rumours of the pair's break up.
The ex-One Direction band member, however, added that this was a "difficult decision" and asked fans for "privacy at this time".
And here we were, thinking love was still alive.
Eleven minutes later, Hadid shared her own statement, echoing Malik's amicable words.
She continued, "I'm forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons that Z and I shared. Finding balance in a relationship is very hard", one fan wrote.
Forget Justin and Jennifer, Gigi and Zayn were iconic.
