Sanders, 48, announced his bid in New Hampshire's first congressional district on his official campaign website, days after he told Vice News that he was seriously considering a run.

"This is a unique opportunity to listen to the hard-working men and women of New Hampshire about the issues that matter to them", Sanders said in a statement. The incumbent, Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, is retiring, and Sanders is now the eighth Democrat vying for the seat; there are also three Republicans and one Libertarian in the race. "The decision as to who to vote for will be determined by the people of New Hampshire's first district, and nobody else". He's lived in New Hampshire for 15 years with his family.

According to his campaign, Levi Sanders is a senior legal analyst and a specialist in Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income Benefits. "It is time to demand that we have a system which represents the 99% and not the 1% who have never it so good".

Levi Sanders does not live in New Hampshire's 1st District but instead resides in the state's other district.

Pence: Abortion to be illegal 'in our time'
Pence will be joined by Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson to deliver remarks at the Susan B. Senate to pass a legislation that withholds federal funds from Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.

"I feel like if I want coverage I have to put Sanders in the subject line", she said earlier this month. The National Republican Congressional Committee said it will compete for the seat and two declared GOP candidates - Andy Martin and Eddie Edwards - have already raised more than $350,000 combined.

Sanders' announcement of his campaign boasts some of the same themes as his father's presidential run: tuition-free college and healthcare without "out-of-pocket" expenses.

A native of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Levi Sanders is a 1992 graduate of the University of Oregon. He is employed in MA as an advocate for those trying to obtain Social Security benefits.

Recently, Levi revealed to national reporters that his father, Bernie, was preparing to run for the White House again in 2020. Carina Driscoll, who is Bernie Sanders' stepdaughter, is running as an independent to be mayor of Burlington, Vermont, the first elected office her stepfather held.
