Women Dead, Detroit Cop Shot in Barricaded-Gunman Situation

- One officer has been shot, two women killed, and another man injured in two separate barricaded gunmen situations on Detroit's east side.

At 10:27 p.m. police got a call of shots fired on the east side at the 1900 block of Lamont Street.

Two women were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

When officers arrived, someone opened fire.

Patrol cars, unmarked police cars, a Border Patrol auto, a tank-like vehicle and others flanked Outer Drive as officers responded to the barricaded gunman.

Police now have a large area near E. Outer Drive and Ryan closed off.
