The release date news comes by way of The Hollywood Reporter.

The Paramount film, based on the popular SEGA videogame character, will open November 15, 2019.

Way back in the 90s, I won a Sega Master-System in a primary school raffle, and it was from there that my brother and I developed a deep love of Sonic the Hedgehog.

No one's been confirmed for the film as of yet. Other than Tim Miller, the director of the meta as hell/funny as hell Deadpool, is the executive producer, I know next to nothing about the people attached to this film. The movie will employ both CGI and live-action elements, although we certainly hope it doesn't involve actual humans making out with the speedy hero as depicted in Sonic '06. The series had sold over 80 million physical copies of games and over 350 million units across packaged software and mobile downloads. It will also be directed by Jeff Fowler, with the script written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

Heavy drinkers have higher risk of getting dementia
Alcohol use was also not objectively measured in the participants, one of the study's main limitations. Heavy drinking may be a major risk factor for all types of dementia, especially early-onset dementia.

Paramount is keeping mum on the film's storyline.

In the game, Sonic sprints around, with mates Tails and Knuckles, collecting rings - while also thwarting the diabolical plans of baddie Doctor Eggman Robotnik.

Maybe, we'll be in for a fish-out-of-water comedy that sees Sonic plucked from his 2D world of green hills and thrown into a real-world job as a parkour trainer.
