Kelly's handling of ex-Trump aide scrutinized after FBI account

On Wednesday Trump said: "I am totally opposed to domestic violence of any kind everyone knows that and it nearly wouldn't even have to be said". Everybody knows that and it nearly wouldn't even have to be said. "So, now you hear it, but you all know".

Two of Porter's former wives came forward with their stories-as well as evidence-that Porter had physically and emotionally abused them and that as a result Porter was not to be trusted.

In his remarks last week, Trump did not mention Porter's two ex-wives who made the accusations, nor did he assure the public that he does not tolerate abusers.

Chairman Trey Gowdy of SC sent letters to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding answers about who in the White House knew of the accusations by the two ex-wives.

"Who else is now working at the White House following the completion of a background investigation without being able to obtain a permanent security clearance?" the senators wrote in their letter.

The suit claims that Cameron and their two kids are homeless and strapped for cash relying on her brother for money. But a month before the wedding Griffin wanted them to have a prenup going back on their original oral agreement.

So what did it finally take for the GOP turn on Donald Trump's White House? "And if they don't answer them, then they're going to need to give me a really good reason", he said.

The White House has offered different explanations for how Porter remained at the White House, and chief of staff John KellyJohn Francis KellyMORE has come under heavy criticism - including from prominent supporters of Trump. Kelly later told White House staffers that he personally fired Porter after learning that the abuse claims against him were "credible", according to the Washington Post. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has jurisdiction over the security clearance process, but not who the White House chooses to hire, Gowdy told CNN. The allegations held up a background check needed to grant Porter a security clearance for work in the White House. Porter was still in progress and that no final recommendation had been made by the White House security personnel regarding the Staff Secretary. They had to tell the chief of staff at minimum.

Wray tells senators that the Federal Bureau of Investigation administratively closed its file on Porter, who was operating under a temporary security clearance, in January, a month before Porter departed amid domestic abuse allegations.

The White House has struggled to contain a widening crisis over its handling of domestic violence allegations against Porter.

At the meeting in the West Wing, Kelly said he was assigning his deputy at the time, Kirstjen Nielsen, with enforcing the new policy, the people said.
