The new slate of offerings is aimed at helping guests find exactly what they want, with a new hotel-like incentive program to come back, hits in an era when the company faces increasing regulation and scrutiny by municipalities.

"Ten years later", says Chesky.

The company is adding four new property types to its existing line up, new tiers of service, a "Collections" listing for homes that fit specific types of travelers and a guest membership loyalty program.

Users now have the choice of three property types - shared space, private room and entire home. It's adding four new property types: vacation home, unique space, B&B and boutique hotels.

The company says there'll be around 2,000 locations across thirteen different cities to begin with, though that's certain to increase as the scheme grows more popular with hosts.

Airbnb also unveiled a "collections" categories that will offer venues for occasions ranging from work to weddings. "Beyond by Airbnb will offer custom designed trips of a lifetime, including the world's finest homes, custom experiences, and world-class hospitality", Airbnb wrote.

The company revealed in San Francisco on Thursday that following its acquisition of Luxury Retreats previous year, it is now preparing to launch Beyond by Airbnb.

Starting with a trial of 10,000 customers, Airbnb is also introducing a rewards scheme called "Superguest" that will offer benefits to frequent customers.

As part of its 10 anniversary recognition, Airbnb on Thursday launched a new tier of homes called Airbnb Plus.

Airbnb is taking further aim at big chain hotels and online travel agencies, and announced a program Thursday that would expand it further beyond shared accommodations into something like a full-fledged travel company.

The company confirmed it had partnered with property developer Newgard Development Group to build a branded rental complex in Kissimmee, Florida in October 2017, which owners can let out via Airbnb for up to 180 days a year.

Chesky said the hospitality platform's latest additions will make "Airbnb for everyone".

The new additions comes as the Silicon Valley darling, now valued by investors at more than $30 billion, faces increasing curbs by municipalities on how and where it can function.

The Airbnb Host Community is broad and diverse with more than 4.5 million places to stay around the world. Airbnb listings fell by nearly half when the rules went into effect. There, in a bold move that signaled Airbnb was no longer threatening just hotels, but had shifted its target to the entire travel industry, Chesky explained how travelers can use the Airbnb platform to book exotic activities not found in any guidebook.
