Vodafone ₹458 and ₹509 prepaid plans revised: Here's what you get now

Reliance Jio Infocomm added as many as 6.11 million customers in November, taking its market share past 13% while rivals Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular registered comparatively lower customer gains of 4.34 million, 2.7 million and 3.19 million respectively, according to data put out by the telecom regulator.

"Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced BSNL "Happy Offer" for prepaid mobile customers - 43 per cent extra validity and 50 per cent additional data with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls for prepaid mobile customers", the company said in a statement. With the new Rs. 399 pack, Airtel is now offering 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls - local, STD, and roaming, 100 SMSs per day for all handset users.

Vodafone has revised its Rs. 448 and Rs. 509 plans to offer more validity and data to prepaid subscribers just as the Reliance Jio slashed prices of its 1GB data per day plans. Both the packs offer unlimited calls, 100 SMSs per day for 28 days. Similarly, Rs 349 and Rs 429 plans will get 1GB data per day with 54 days and 81 days validity, respectively. A day later, it started offering 70-day validity at Rs. 399.

Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509. This takes on Jio's Rs. 98 pack that has same benefits, albeit with a limit of 140 SMSes and an extended validity of 14 days. This pack also features unlimited calls and 100 SMS daily. This means users will get a total of 91GB data for 91 days. Jio offers the highest amount data of all three.

Vodafone's second plan update is for Rs 458. Vodafone's Rs 509 will compete against Airtel's Rs 509 and Jio's Rs 498 plans. The validity of Jio's Rs. 398 pack is also 70 days. Users would get Rs. 103 of talk time, with call rates of 15 paisa per minute for BSNL to BSNL networks in this prepaid pack.
