It's nearly Girl Scout Cookie time!

The girls are kick-starting their sales early.

Girl Scout cookie season kicks off this weekend in Southern Arizona. "This "Cookie Cartel" is run primarily by young girls who lure you in with a good cause story and soon you're addicted to these dangerously delicious things". Anybody can order cookies anytime they want clear up through March 17. The act of selling cookies is not just about fundraising but also learning skills based in responsibility and independence. Whether it's a trip she'll never forget, a service project that will change her community forever, or the opportunity to build a lifetime of memories at camp, Girl Scout Cookies help make it all happen! But the troops decide with their money and some go joyriding and others go camping.

Police joked the "Cookie Cartel", also known as cute and innocent girl scouts, lure unsuspecting buyers into a good cause. Some troops use it to pay their registration for the next year, some use it to buy uniforms, some use it to travel.

Girl Scout troops in Houston, Texas, are allowing customers to donate part of their purchase to Hurricane Harvey first responders as a way to give back. The S'mores were the most popular new flavor in the history of the program.

There are eight varieties of cookies available this year, including Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Savannah Smiles, gluten-free Toffee-tastic and Girl Scout S'mores.
