Person in custody after police chase Greyhound bus in northern IL

Numerous police agencies from Wisconsin and IL are responding to an incident involving a Greyhound bus.

Greyhound said in a statement Friday night, "The bus with 50 customers onboard was en route from Milwaukee to Chicago when the incident began around 9:50 pm CST". A man with a gun was reportedly on the bus, the Lake County sheriff's office said.

The bus eventually stopped on I-94 at Rt. 173. Those passengers were evacuated, and Greyhound is sending a release bus to transport them to Chicago.

Authorities announced the unidentified suspect was in custody after 12:30 a.m.

He also said that there is no FIR concerning a scheduled crime by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or any Police agency. Palaniappan, a nephew of Chidambaram, allegedly received $2 lakh from Maxis Group in the guise of software consultancy.

According to the Illinois State Police, troopers were responding to a "possible hostage situation" on the bus.

Approximately 40 passengers aboard the bus have been safely removed - and there are no injuries reported.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

The incident led to a full freeway closure of southbound I-94 at Highway 50 in Kenosha County.
