Burnley have made Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou their first signing of the January transfer window.

It's expected that N'Koudou will join Burnley for the rest of the season, and snub other interest coming from France. Appearances this campaign have also been limited, although he did score his first goal in England against Apoel Nicosia at the culmination of Tottenham's Champions League game.

Burnley have been brilliant under Sean Dyche this season, and Nkoudou will be hoping to play regularly at Turf Moor for the rest of the season.

The new number seven has described the move to Lancashire as a "big opportunity" and also revealed he had been told good things about the club by former Burnley star Kieran Trippier. "I am happy to be here, so thank you Trippier", the man nicknamed "GK" told Burnley's in-house media.

The former France Under-21 worldwide has made 22 appearances in all competitions since moving to England but has played just a single minute in the top flight this season - against Bournemouth in October - although he has made six appearances in total.

That means they lie fourth in the table, 16 points behind Barca, the unbeaten leaders, as the halfway stage in the season approaches.

The loan doesn't include a stipulation to make the move permanent, as Pochettino sees Nkoudou playing a key part in Tottenham's future makeup.

This season, he has one minute of Premier League match time this season although he has featured in the Champions League, scoring in the 3 - 0 victory over APOEL.

"I watched the last game against Liverpool when they played very well and were unlucky".

"I knew he (Dyche) is a big manager who likes young players and players who go forward, so it suits my character to come here and I am happy to work with him", Nkoudo said.

With Erik Lamela returning to full fitness, N'Koudou's chances of first-team football greatly reduced.
