But a few months ago they moved into a home in the town of Seminole, Okla. where they couldn't keep her anymore.
The Seminole Humane Society in Oklahoma wrote on Facebook that a dog named Cathleen walked 40 miles to try to find its previous owners after they moved away and couldn't keep her. "She's probably traveled the most out of all our dogs".
Seminole Animal Shelter Treasurer Marta Mattingly said they want to be "very careful" finding Cathleen a new home.
"Cathleen has travelled twice from Prague (about a 20 mile trip) and returned to her family in Seminole", Seminole Animal Shelter wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
But Cathleen missed her humans.

This dog knew where she belonged, and distance was not an obstacle.
For $25, Cathleen is now up for adoption, but this time at a home with a fenced yard. 'We are working hard on just the ideal, secure place'.
The humane society told KOCO that it has received several applications from people wanting to adopt the dog. A 13-year-old yellow lab named Sophie who had wandered away from her family last week in ME was found buried in snow on Tuesday.
