It was Guice's third 250-yard performance as a Tiger - he also had 251 yards against Arkansas when he set the school record for longest rush with a 96-yard touchdown - and he became the first player in SEC history with three games of 250 yards or more.

In a move that was widely expected, LSU junior running back Derrius Guice declared for the 2018 NFL Draft and will forgo his senior season with the Tigers.

"I promise I'm going to come back and get my degree one day", Guice said in a video message he posted. "Having an opportunity to play for this historic university was truly an honor... nothing will ever replace LSU in my heart because you played a big part in raising me from a young boy into becoming a man". Guice eventually broke through, running rampant for 276 yards against the Ole Miss in LSU's 40-24 win. He finished with 2,638 yards and 26 rushing touchdowns over his final two seasons in Baton Rouge.

He told The Washington Examiner that he wants to run for Senate so he can work with the President on behalf of Arizona. Arpaio has a reputation for strongly opposing illegal immigration and using unorthodox law enforcement methods.

Guice led the SEC in rushing yards (1,387) and ryshing yards per game (115.6) as a sophomore despite only starting 6 of LSU's 12 games.

Over his career, Guice notched 3,074 yards on 471 carries and scored 29 touchdowns on the ground.

Guice likely will be the second or third running back selected; Penn State's Saquon Barkley is considered the top back available. "Growing up in Baton Rouge, it has always been my dream to play for LSU.Entering the National Football League draft has always been my goal and it's the next chapter of my life".
