During The Game Awards 2017, Microsoft and Rare's multiplayer pirate exploration and combat game, Sea of Thieves has finally got a release date.

Additionally, Rare announced a limited-edition Sea of Thieves themed Xbox One controller, available for pre-order now. Sea of Thieves features extensive multiplayer co-op capabilties.

The open ocean adventure has been in the works for some time, originally unveiled during Microsoft's E3 2015 presentation. However, a few weeks back, the studio expanded things even further, opening up the game to anyone who is signed up to the Windows/Microsoft Insider Program.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether the website was a legit offer or merely a hoax. In Wednesday's hearing, Trump Jr. downplayed his message exchanges with WikiLeaks over Twitter.

KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to Sea of Thieves, particularly given how long it has been since Rare launched a new game. It also comes with an exclusive Ferryman clothing set for your in-game character, 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold and a 14-day trial of Xbox Game Pass.

Devs have promised that more about the release, including preorder information and so forth, will be revealed soon.
