Huawei Nova 2s with dual rear and front cameras unveiled

The front of the Huawei Nova 2S fits in with the ongoing wave of big-screen/small-bezel phones including the OnePlus 5T and the latest from Huawei's own Honor line, the Honor V10, which was just launched yesterday.

As teased before, Huawei announced the launch of the Nova 2s smartphone at an event in China today. Having said that, let's see what this phone has to offer, shall we. And, On the rear, it comes with a 16-megapixel RGB camera sensor and 20-megapixel monochrome sensor dual-camera setup with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, PDAF, 4K video recording and in the front, the device sports 20-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture and 2-megapixel dual-camera setup.

With the Huawei Nova 2S expected to compete in a mid-to-upper range segment of the handset market, it seems as if the manufacturer is playing it safe. Well, those two cameras protrude on the back of the phone, not by much though, the phone shouldn't wobble on the table or anything of the sort.

Under the hood, the Nova 2s is powered by Huawei's Kirin 960 octa-core processor, 6/4GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB and a non-removable 3340mAh battery.

The Huawei Nova 2s boasts of a 6-inch FHD+ LTPS 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The front optics arrangement also has two shooters - one wide-angle 20-megapixel lens and an additional 2-megapixel camera for achieving portrait mode in selfies.

Numerous leaks about the Huawei Nova 2S already hint at the phone's specs. The phone runs on Android Oreo out-of-the-box with Huawei's custom EMUI 8.0 skin on top. The device is available in a special Yixing Zhang with 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage which is priced at 3399 Yuan (approximately Rs 33,178). Just like the earlier Nova handsets, the Huawei Nova 2S is expected to be available in the Chinese market for the first few months, followed by the worldwide release.
