Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege also features a technological breakthrough that redefines the way players interact with a game environment. Year 3, meanwhile, when it releases in December, will see the addition of eight new Operators from CTUs from around the world, two brand new maps set in Italy and Morocco and a level design and art direction makeover for an existing map.

Operation Chimera, the first season, will introduce a new three-player cooperative mode called "Mission Outbreak" that should surprise the community. Little more is known about Year 3 or Operation Chimera at present, though Ubisoft says more will be revealed at the Six Invitational esports tournament in February. These first new operators in the game are focused on handling biohazard situations. This will be live for four weeks and will include a selection of exclusive cosmetics available during the event. More reveals are bound to happen in the next few maps regarding what the new and reworked maps may look like, as well as what kind of operators we may be seeing in Season One and beyond.
